I'm back to try more goodies at MG Cafe, Sri Hartamas
I'm back for the usual feast at MG Cafe. Luckily my friends were not as "loyal" as me, so I do have a few new items to share with all of you, and of course, to highlight my usual favorites!
Assam Laksa
Faithful followers of this blog would know that this is what I ordered. I don't know, but I never had the urge to try anything else at this eatery as I am still extremely obsessed with this bowl of delicious assam laksa.
Rendang Donburi Here's another Malaysianized Japanese dish where the accompaniments are 'Mutton' Rendang. I guess it's somewhat similar to Nasi Rendang except the rice used is not cooked in coconut milk.
Sambal Onigiri This is a Malaysianized Onigiri as the filling is made from a sambal flavored mushroom stalk. Extremely tasty and definitely worth a try.
Chocolate Brownie Indulging in this after enjoying my usual favorites has got to be the best way to cap off a great meal. It was not too dry, nor was it too wet. I actually think this is better than the Brownies served at Secret Recipe!
It is always a pleasure to dine at Chef Low as we always expect sumptuous food and efficient service. I was told that the management is looking into introducing a new menu soon. I was torn with the decision as I do have a few favorites on the old menu that I wouldn't want to be taken off, however, I must admit, I am running out of new things to try and the management has chosen a right time to initiate the change. Meanwhile, do check out this eatery before the new menu is rolled out!
Fruit Tea RM9.90 for a whole potful of fruit tea. I particularly like the refreshing and soothing feeling after each sip. This is a very good and healthy option for family with kids as they will definitely love this!
Curry Vegetables A great dish if you are in for all natural veggies to go with a bowl of warm rice.
Black Pepper Udon Yum, I cannot describe how fantastic the combination of black pepper and udon is! The person that thought of the combination is a pure genius in culinary arts!
A very satisfying bowl of almond jelly with mango puree. The freshly cut apples added a crunchy edge to this delicious dessert.
Cheap and Great cendol in Melaka found in Jeta Groves
After our lunch at L.C.Vegetarian Food and Organic Mart in Malacca, we adjourned for Jeta Groves, a place famous for Malaccan Nyonya delights. The cendol is especially recommended as it is served with extra thick santan and red bean paste. The cendol is smooth and firm to the bite and topped with well cooked gula melaka, it becomes a perfect thirst quencher. It was so irresistible that we each had two helpings of it even though we were still quite full from lunch. On top of that we also ordered ''tauhu bakar'' which looked very appealing but after sinking our teeth in it, we found it very ordinary as the sauce is not that pleasant on the palatte.
Cendol - RM 2
Tauhu Bakar - RM 2.80

The Dong Zhi (冬至) or Winter Solstice Festival is one of the most significant festivals celebrated by the Chinese and many other East Asian nations. This year it is celebrated on the 22nd December.
Most Chinese families gather during Dong Zhi to pay homage for a good year, and celebrate it by eating tang yuan, a traditional food made out of rice flour stuffed with sesame seeds or red bean paste served along a clear soup made of sugar and water and seasoned with pandan leaves and ginger or in any other type of soup that you can opt for. It is a time to be with families to spend time together.
Recipe for tang yuan soup.
Ready made tang yuan flour can be bought from the wet market . They now come in many flavors like pandan, beetroot, pumpkin and original plain white ones. I chose beetroot for the red color, pumpkin for the yellow and the white to make them more colorful. Red bean paste can also be bought ready made in small packets. I boiled some red bean soup and also another smaller pot of clear soup of pandan and ginger to have a bit of a variation. Divide the tang yuan flour and red bean paste into similar portions. Size of tang yuan is own individual preference, Wrap the red bean paste with the flour and roll on both palms to make into nice round balls. Bring a pot of water to boil and put in all the flour balls. Tang yuan balls are cooked when they are all floating. Dish out and serve in soup of your choice.
Cheap and Good Food at L.C. Vegetarian Food & Organic Mart, Malacca
We had a stopover lunch at a Malaccan vegetarian restaurant while making our way to Singapore recently. Although it is a small restaurant, it is spacious enough for a small company to have a quick and decent meal. Service was friendly and food arrived fast enough to answer to our hunger call. I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable price charged for the dishes which were delicious and of good portion. This will definitely make me feel the pinch paying for another meal in KL!
Lo Hon Guo drink
Vegetarian curry fish - RM 6
Tofu - RM 4
Brinjal with basil leaves - RM 6

I'm back for more bento box at DeliVeg. I'm a huge fan of Japanese food. Japanese food combines a few simple ingredients to create a tantalizing feast. It's so addictive that Malaysians and Singaporeans, in particular, would queue for hours just to dine in certain Japanese eateries. Being a vegetarian, although I am only restricted to certain items on the menu, I would also flock these eatery to satisfy my cravings.
A mural of famous vegetarians :)
One voice, one vision, one verdict. Global Vegetarianism.
Zakana Kats - $ 8.90 I personally like this dish a lot! The 'fis-' was deep fried to perfection and went well with the mayonnaise-like sauce. Very good value as it came with a side salad and miso soup.
Claypot rice - $ 7.00 The rice was burnt when it got to our table. This was much better during our previous visit, wondering what happened =( However, kudos to the chef for actually attempting to cook the rice in the claypot though!
Ebi Tempura - $ 9.00 The "prawns" tasted very "floury" and I did not find much satisfaction in this dish. Would have preferred a more springy and chewy feel. Nevertheless, the crispy outer managed to save the day.
Laksa - $ 7.00 This dish is actually more appetizing than it looks, and I'm very thankful and actually surprised that
Soup comes with Laksa What a weird combination! Laksa with apple soup. haha. I like the soup though, very unique on its own, a little weird when served together with laksa. =.= Apple juice - $ 3.00 A very normal glass of freshly juiced apple.
All in all, I would go back for the bento boxes as they still remain the highlight of this eatery. If they are serious about keeping their business alive, they really need to improve on the other items. Any readers who frequent this eatery, would appreciate it if you would share your experiences with us :)

Shihlin Taiwan Bento Box, 1 Utama Shopping Complex
As I approached the lower ground concourse level of One Utama New Wing, a surge of festivity immediately shrouded me. I found myself standing in the middle of a European Winter Wonderland. The xmas deco at One Utama was spectacular!
I also discovered something new. A taiwanese bento box eatery. It's great if you are looking for a quick and simple meal. Priced at RM10.80 per bento box, the food is of great value, read on to find out why.
Each bento box also comes with a free cup of iced red tea. I was very happy as I actually expected a very diluted and tasteless drink, but I was served something that exceeded my expectations! Great job.
Don't expect something luxurious at this eatery as the seating is quite tight and very limited. Since the business is bustling, the management should really consider moving into a larger shop lot.
The bento box serving is good enough for two girls or a very hungry guy. The bento box comes with a huge bowl of rice drizzled with a very tasty soy sauce, topped off with a few pieces of juicy spiced tofu. It is accompanied by half a hard boiled egg and vegetables/mushroom tempura.
The tempura is sprinkled with a very special pepper powder, greatly enhancing its taste. The tempura batter is different than the ones you would normally find at Japanese restaurants. The batter here at Shihlin is thicker and carries a crispy outer but moist inner.
Now that you have two great reasons to visit 1 Utama this xmas, three if you count in the great xmas sale, what are you waiting for!

Finally you can have bags that matches your jeans perfectly.
More often than not, the legs of the jeans we buy are too long for us and would require some alterations, sometimes having to cut off quite a good length. It is such a waste to the cut section away! Here are a few ideas to turn them into something useful and perhaps fashionable, as you would finally have a bag that matches your jeans perfectly. Read on to find out how!
Presenting to you the Bags-That-Matches-Your-Jeans-Perfectly
If the cut section is too short, you can always join them and also use old zips from old cushion covers as straps for the bag. Straps made from these zips are strong and durable and can outlast the life span of the bag
If the cut off bottom is long enough, you can even make a pocket from it and also sew a pattern on it. Look out for interesting designs found from remnants from tailoring of other clothes.
You can still make a little bag if the cut off jean is just a small piece and sew on some interesting designs. Kids will love to carry such bags to show off to their friends.

Good Value gives Great Satisfaction @ Toast Box, Pavilion
Customers are smart in judging food value, that is why you always notice a long queue at this outlet. The food is delicious and is priced very reasonably. We ordered a Trio Toast Set which comes with a cup of coffee, toast with a very generous amount of butter and kaya, and another French Toast Set of coffee and toast with peanut butter. I personally like the food at Toast Box as it is very good value and with that comes great satisfaction!
Coffee
Toast with peanut butter Look how appetizing this is! The bread came thoroughly toasted. I appreciate the thick slice of bread to go with the generous spread of peanut butter. This way, the bread is not overpowered by the peanut butter as we get a good balance of both.
Toast with kaya and butter Look at the thick slice of butter - this should not be a daily meal choice though! LoL.
