Remember to tell them that you're a vegetarian (吃斋 - shik zhai or 吃素 - shik shou）, as the regular Gwai Ling Gou contains tortoise shell powder. The vegetarian version is 茯苓膏 - fuk ling gou. Some shops do not have Fuk Ling Gou, but instead their gwai ling gou do not contain the tortoise shell powder.

Why you should try this: It is known to "soothe" the human body by cleansing the system. It is said to help clear facial acne and improve one's complexion.
I ate one bowl a day in Hong Kong and found that my skin became clearer.
