Cheap and Great cendol in Melaka found in Jeta Groves
After our lunch at L.C.Vegetarian Food and Organic Mart in Malacca, we adjourned for Jeta Groves, a place famous for Malaccan Nyonya delights. The cendol is especially recommended as it is served with extra thick santan and red bean paste. The cendol is smooth and firm to the bite and topped with well cooked gula melaka, it becomes a perfect thirst quencher. It was so irresistible that we each had two helpings of it even though we were still quite full from lunch. On top of that we also ordered ''tauhu bakar'' which looked very appealing but after sinking our teeth in it, we found it very ordinary as the sauce is not that pleasant on the palatte.
Cendol - RM 2
Tauhu Bakar - RM 2.80

We had gone to Malacca to have a gathering with friends from different parts of the world. a local friend from Malacca has insisted that the cendol from Jeta Groves is a must try as it is a genuine Nyonya restaurant. The owners are friendly and the cendol is really good. Glad we were brought here and will definitely come back for more the next time we visit Malacca again.

This is a good afternoon tea-time place to rest your feet after hours of shopping. Place is always full but if you are lucky you can get your seats without waiting too long. The bubur chacha is by far the best I have tasted so far. You can find 3 types of sweet potatoes inside, the yellow, orange and the purple type. Also you can find black eye beans and sago made into jelly like balls. For RM 3.80 it is very reasonable
Bubur chacha - RM 3.80
Barley drink - RM 2.80

This place is always quite crowded as there is a good variety of food served here. They have many different types of nyonya kueh and a few types of sweet soups like black glutinous rice, bubur cha cha, wheat (gandum) and red bean. You can also request for vegetarian chee cheong fun. Otherwise, you can go for ice kacang or just toast with kopi/teh.

Something tasting sourish and slightly hot will be very appetizing for a lunch meal with a hot plate of rice. Found this brand of Honey Chicken Sauce by 'Brahim's' and going through the ingredients found that it is suitable for a vegetarian diet. Just add the whole packet of sauce to the vegetarian chicken and the result of the dish is just so delicious. It is so easy and convenient to prepare.
Ingredients: 1 packet Brahim's Honey Chicken Sauce 1 small packet of vegetarian chicken 1 small pc of pineapple cut into small cubes A few pcs of sliced ginger A little olive oil

This is not a vegetarian restaurant. On the menu only chee cheong fun is available. Together with teh tarik, it is enough to fill your hungry tummy.
Two avid vegetarians are here to share some insights to the world of vegetarianism.
Hopefully, through this site, the lives of some animals can be spared. Always remember, animals have feelings too, they are our friends not our meal.
