Take away dinner bought from Kuan Yin Vegetarian Restaurant
I must say that they taste and look like the real thing. Normally I prefer to eat healthily but once in a while you may just like to let yourself go and eat something that has got a lot of seasonings and flavorings. This takeaway food - the char siew and siew kai fan'' not only look but also taste like the real thing. Take them with the specially prepared chili sauce makes your meal even more satisfying. The butter prawns taste delicious but they are a little bit too oily.

Yishensu Vegetarian Restaurant
Portion is not something that this restaurant should boast about as what you get is not really worth your money, oh well, beggars can't be choosers! How I wish Malaysia would have as many vegetarian restaurants as Hong Kong and Singapore, so the veggie restaurants would not monopolize the market! Anyway, we do dine here once in awhile, not because it's delicious, but because it's one of the two vegetarian restaurant available at 1U.

This is not free soup, unlike Kuan Yin Chai.
Nice, but quite oily though.

Char Kway Teow
it came chunky. i wouldn't recommend it.

Very common dish, nothing special.
What a bland visit to YiShenSu. We actually ordered another dish, the kung po pork, but it came so late that we decided to cancel it. So yea, slow service, so-so tasting food, won't be returning to this restaurant anytime soon!

Organic Recipe
Used to like to visit this restaurant but lately I find that the place is not as warm and friendly. The food is still alright but the maintenance of the restaurant is not up to standard. They used to give a 10% discount for purchases at the mini mart but have been informed that they have stopped the practice.

Sweet Garden
This is a much better setting and environment compared to the old place where they had shifted from. Taste of food and pricing is still the same but parking is quite a problem as there are so many other restaurants in this area. I recommend the sambal petai with rice as the taste is really delicious combined together with okra.

Satisfying meal at ''Delicious'' 1Utama
They really mean it when they say it is spicy zucchini as the spaghetti which we ordered with spicy zucchini was quite hot that we need to have cold sips in between our mouthfuls of this tasty pasta dish. I am happy that the serving is just enough that do not make you too full and it is not oily and is just nice for my taste.
The warm scones were lovely with a crusty outside and when cut into halves you can see it is light and fluffy. Spread the jam and cream and mm......... they just combine and melt in your mouth.

why-smartphones-can-be-dumbphones
Smartphones are supposedly invented to help its users overcome all sorts of obstacles, be it finding the exact location on the built in map / GPS or getting travelling tips while travelling abroad.

However, sadly, the smartphones’ intelligence level is far from that of a human. I take for example my blackberry bold 9700, the built in blackberry map is not helpful at all! I tried to locate Solaris Kuala Lumpur on it but it returned with ''no result''. To help me find specific places, I had to get google maps installed to help pin point the desired destination, and then manually map the pinpointed location on google map to the blackberry map. All this is because google maps are actually a static map with no GPS functions. Yes, I do agree that Smartphones are smart, but to a certain extent only, it is actually rather useless unless it has a smart user that knows how to improvise and find workarounds for its flaws!

However, despite the above flaw, I cannot live without my smartphone as it allows me to stay connected to my family, my friends, my friend’s friends and most importantly, the world! I can never live without the Blackberry Messenger, MSN, Gtalk, Viigo, Facebook and last but not least Twitter! With my blackberry, I am always up-to-date with national, world and business news, and of course this is made possible after I got my plan with digi, and I never ever have to worry about exceeding data charges again. I still remember my days with another provider, where I had to pay significantly more to get lesser and capped data. My frugality set in, and this made me refrain from watching that youtube video that was hot on the most-viewed list, thinking I have to save my data for a “rainy day”. I was always busy at the end of the month, as I felt obliged to use up all the remaining data since I have already paid for it. I felt like a slave to my smartphone and instead of giving me convenience, it gave me additional headaches.

Thanks to Digi, my angel sent from heaven, these problems are a thing of the past. I never have to think twice about visiting a high data webpage or watching a stream video or downloading a high quality picture. I use my phone so much that I am considering to get another battery to support my usage. Perhaps I need another smartphone all together *hint hint*!

Hope to see all the 100 creative bloggers at the DiGi Break Free party!

Banquet, Bangsar Village II
It is like attending a garden party at this restaurant with flowers and trees and with the soft color decoration, one feels the nice and serene atmosphere. Maybe because of the open concept (the restaurant is right in the open court of the 1st floor), I feel free and relaxed and having a conversation with your partner is easy as we can be easily heard without having to raise our voices. The smoking section is in an adjoining shoplot, The Penne Aubergine and olive which we ordered was tasty and they were quite generous with the olives which I love. Pita bread was warm and soft but the dips should come in bigger portions. The caffee latte came with a jam tart and was nice and worth the price.

Haagen-Dazs
It has been really warm, humid and sticky lately and the best way to cool down will be to be able to enjoy a nice and creamy serving of ice-cream. So we headed straight to Haagen-Dazs to satisfy our cravings. There is no doubt that the ice-cream here is cool but a bit pricey. If you are on a calorie count do be careful of the saturated fat, cholesterol and sugar content. Make enquiries before placing your order.

Scones from Coffee Bean
I have always loved berries and when I was in Melbourne I never failed to pick blueberries, strawberries and raspberries from farms when they are in season so that I do not miss out and know that the berries are truly fresh from the plant. I just pick straight from the shrubs and pop the juicy and sweet berries straight to my mouth until my stomach is full and only then I work to fill the basket that was provided to me.

Berries do go well with scones and I am very glad to find that Coffee bean actually serves Cranberry scones. The scones are very good especially when it is being served warm. However, the scones served are nowhere as good as the ones that I had in Pie in the Sky, where the scones are as fluffy and airy as cotton candy! However, it is a great snack to get from Coffee Bean together with a piping hot cup of cafe latte. Ah, writing this post makes my day.

Tian Yian Cafe, Cheras
It is always very crowded in this cafe especially during weekends but not to worry as the service is still good and fast. As soon as you sit down you will be given your menus and place your orders. Food will arrive shortly after. I am very happy to say that they have maintained the standard of their food after all these years. The latte is recommended as it is very reasonable at RM 6.50 for quite a big cup. The prawn noodles is only available on Saturdays and Sundays and is very tasty, very authentic.

Delicious Meal at ''Delicious''
There is always a queue before you can get to dine in Delicious. You may be lucky if the queue is not that long and soon you get to be seated and make your order. I would like to comment that our food did not take long to arrive and there is no complain on the service. Our order of naan with 3 dips costs RM15 which is very reasonable considering the 3 dips came in very large portions and they are ''delicious''

Chinese herbal soup with fig and longan fruits
These days are so warm and sticky. The Chinese believe that a good pot of herbal soup will help to regulate the body temperature and put the yin and yang back to balance. Was browsing through all the herbal soup in a medical hall that they now pre-packed into convenient packages with different functions to suit your needs. Found this mix of herbs with dried fig and longan fruits. Boiled for 2 hours in my crock pot and the taste is really delicious.
The health benefits of figs include treatment of constipation, indeigestion, piles, diabetes, cough, bronchitis and asthma.

Cendol at Wai Sik Gai, SS2 Petaling Jaya
Was at Wai Sik Gai, SS2 and as it is such a hot day today, a nice bowl of cendol will help to cool the body down. Stall No. 11 offers cendol for RM 2.30 only, so why not? The appealing bowl of cendol arrived as can be seen from the picture below but when you dig into it, you will find that all the goodies are those that can be seen on top of the ice shavings and inside it is nothing but just the ice shavings itself only. But for the price of RM2.30 it is enough to satisfy your crave.

Vegetarian stall in Taman Megah Food Court
So happy to note that they have a vegetarian store in the Taman Megah Food Court. However, after browsing around the whole food court, I found that I do have another choice at the Lui Char stall. So I opted for the Lui Char as the food at this stall looks cold and I for one prefers to have my food at least warm. Maybe can try to visit them at around lunch time at noon when the food is just being prepared and will be nice and hot.

Ole Ole Bali - Solaris
Solaris, the new hang out place of many youngsters, seniors, malaysians and also foreigners. Broke my personal record of being at Solaris 3 times for one weekend alone, 1st time for a company event, 2nd with two of my best friends and my 3rd time for an outing with my family.
Solaris is great as parking is cheap (only RM1 per entry on all Friday, Saturday and Sunday! How great is that!)

Visited the famous Ole-ole Bali and was quite disappointed that they did not have that many vegetarian friendly dishes, so I settled for the only thing available. It was actually very tasty and very value for money!
RM13 (including a small bowl of salad and also a generous side of french fries)
The grilled vegetables was not too oily and the bread was very well done. Not too soft, not too hard, the bread came warm too!

Side note: Love the pandan water that was served -FOC (do opt for the warm water as the hot water brings out the most of the pandan leaf)

Wow, highly recommended Hakka Lui Char
Wow, this is good. We were looking around for food and driving around P.J. and got caught in a massive traffic jam and realized that it is the pasar malam night for Taman Megah and had no choice and tried to find a way out by going through the car park of the Taman Megah Food Court. There was an available parking lot so we just conveniently got our car in and thought that might as well we check out the Food Court and also after dinner could walk around the pasar malam to help in digestion. We found this stall recommended by ASTRO ''ONE DAY 5 MEALS'' serving Hakka Lui Char. We enquired if the soup was ok for us vegetarians and was told that it is just plain water to be mixed with the Lui Char paste. The price is RM5 for Small and RM5.50 for Big. So we ordered a big bowl first to try out. Wow, the taste was good and the serving of vegetables and other condiments were really generous. We could not resist but had to order another bowl. Good job ASTRO for the recommendation!
