MG'S Cafe
Ordered the asam laksa but find that there is a little something missing in the taste. The spicy prawn rice set, thai style, was strongly recommended by the boss who claims that it is very fragrant and tasty but it turned out to be nothing extraordinary.

Many other tasty snacks are on sale too

Homemade Tiramisu - Heavenly

Until today, I never knew how easy it is to make tiramisu. Never again I will eat the ones sold outside as the tiramisu I made was perfect and exactly how I liked it. Not too sweet, bursting full of good quality coffee and generous amount of tia maria. Perfect way to end your day with a "BANG".

Nicole, Michelle & Jamie

300g Mascapone Cheese
150g Heavy Whipping Cream
6 cups of Coffee
3 capfuls of Tia Maria
10 Sponge Fingers
a tablespoon of cocoa powder

1. Add mascapone cheese and whipping cream to a mixing bowl. Mix well with hand-mixer
2. Add two capfuls of Tia Maria and continue mixing.
3. Meanwhile boil 6 cups worth of coffee
4. Add 1 capful of Tia Maria to coffee when boiled.
5. Soak the sponge fingers in the coffee until semi-soft and transfer immediately to a baking tray / anything you wish to serve the tiramisu in
6. Layer the bottom layer of the cake with sponge fingers followed by a layer of the mixed cheese and cream, and repeat with sponge fingers ending with mixed cheese and cream.
7. Chill in the refrigerator overnight.

Pizza Milano
Pizza Milano has just been opened for less than three months. On the menu there is a Vegetarian Pizza with toppings as Green Pepper, Tomato, Mushrooms, Onion, Carrot, Sweet Ciorn, Green Peas, Cheese and priced at RM 13.99. We had requested for extra pineapple toppings and was charged extra RM2.00 for it. The manager informed that Spaghetti Aglio Olio is a very popular dish there and can be prepared as a vegetarian dish for us. We find it to be really tasty and portion is enough for two to share.

There are very few choices in our day-to-day lives that make a significant impact on the world around us, but what we choose to eat does. Eating meat supports global poverty and worker abuse, harms the environment, supports cruelty to animals, and is bad for our health. Socrates said that "[t]he unexamined life is not worth living." Basically, veganism and vegetarianism are about leading an examined life—really considering the health, environmental, human, and animal consequences of our food choices, and then opting to make choices that are in keeping with our basic values. So vegetarianism is the self-empowerment diet; at every meal, we have the opportunity to live our values—to cast our vote against cruelty to animals, environmental degradation, and global poverty—and we do this all while eating a diet that is better for us than one that includes meat.

Ying Thai 2 (Melbourne)
Having a tough time finding authentic thai vegetarian food in thailand (due to all the lard they use for cooking and also adding meat to almost everything except mango sticky rice dessert), I was very thrilled to find a good vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne, favored by both vegetarian and non-vegetarians. Kailan with toon sprout sauce
When you find that it is too much work to do frying, just blanch your greens in a saucepan of boiling water and in just a few minutes you will have a plate of lovely green vegetables to serve.

1 small bunch of baby kailan
A little toon sprout sauce
A little vegetarian oyster sauce
A little oil and salt for blanching

1. Boil half a pot of water in a saucepan
2 Add in a little oil and salt to the boiling water
3. Add in baby kailan and scald the vegetables for a few minutes
4. When the vegetables have changed color bring them out and shake off excess water
5. Top with a little toon sprout and oyster sauce.

Blanching Vegetables - Why and How

Blanching is the process of scalding vegetables in boiling or steaming water for a short time. It is simple. Blanching helps retain the flavor, color and texture of vegetables

A Vegetarian Star
Alicia Silverstone notes how much better vegetarian diets are for your health: "Since I've gone vegetarian, my body has never felt better and my taste buds have been opened up to a whole new world. It's one of the most rewarding choices I've ever made and I invite you to join me in living a healthy, cruelty-free lifestyle." Indeed, studies show that a vegetarian diet promotes a healthy heart—and that helps stars maintain a youthful vigor and boundless stamina while on stage, in the studio, and on the field.

Vegetarian Honey Chicken
Something tasting sourish and slightly hot will be very appetizing for a lunch meal with a hot plate of rice. Found this brand of Honey Chicken Sauce by 'Brahim's' and going through the ingredients found that it is suitable for a vegetarian diet. Just add the whole packet of sauce to the vegetarian chicken and the result of the dish is just so delicious. It is so easy and convenient to prepare.

1 small pc of pineapple cut into small cubes
A few pcs of sliced ginger
A little olive oil

1. Fry ginger pcs in a little olive oil
2. Add in vegetarian chicken and pineapple cubes and fry for 1 minute
3. Add in Brahim's honey chicken sauce and mix well
4. Simmer for 2 minutes and dish out to serve
