Go Green, Go Veg!

Thinking about going green to do your bit to save the planet? Apart from changing your old bulbs to energy-saving light bulbs, why not consider going veg? Although I did not become a vegetarian to save the planet, but I hope it helps encourage a few more to have a few more "green" meals. It has been said that going vegetarian helps reduce global warming as farm animals take up more forest land than planting plants for the same number of consumers. There are about 6.5 billion people. The demand for food will increase exponentially. According to www.vegsoc.org, raising cattles is one of the most damaging components of agriculture. They cause the most environmental damage of any non-human species through over-grazing, soil erosion, desertification and tropical deforestration for ranches, in addition to their gaseous emissions from their manure. Studies on world food security estimate that an affluent diet containing meat requires up to 3 times as many resources as a vegetarian diet. Hopefully, my post can encourage someone out there who is not a vegetarian to consider having a meatless meal every now and then.

- Jamie & Yvonne -
Two avid vegetarians are here to share some insights to the world of vegetarianism.
Hopefully, through this site, the lives of some animals can be spared. Always remember, animals have feelings too, they are our friends not our meal.
