Taste is quite bland but I do not complain as this restaurant caters for the very health conscious. Their dishes are relatively low salt and low oil. This is not a vegetarian restaurant but they do cater for vegetarians.

Taste = ****
Atmosphere = ****
Service = ****
Price = $
Location = very convenient for tourists
How to get there = MTR to Central then taxi to Coda Plaza. It's actually quite near (15 minutes uphill walking distance) from the peak tram, so if you're in a hiking mood, you can probably walk to the coda plaza from the MTR station.
Website: www.pureveggie-house.com

We ordered the set menu for $198 per person. We ordered 2 sets for a crowd of three.

Mixed Fruit Salad
delicious fresh ingredients!
5 season platter
delicious!!!!! I loved the deep fried netted stinkhorn, fried beancurd skin
braised chestnut and fresh monkey head mushroom
The chestnut was really sweet and soft!
We liked this dish as it's something different from the food at other veg eateries
Vegetarian Abalone Mushroom and seasonal veg
nothing that special about this dish as you can get it at other vegetarian restaurants
Dessert (Longan, White fungus etc)
the taste is just nice as it's not too sweet =)
Vegetarian Curry served with mahogany bread
Being Malaysian, we have much better curry back in Malaysia, so we didn't really like this curry all that much. However, the mahogany bread (deep fried bread) saved the day as it was really crispy.

We forgot to take pictures of some dishes as we were too hungry!
Some of the food we didn't manage to get snapshot of:
1. Porridge
2. Fresh Fruits
3. Steamed bean curd with dry citrus peel and mushroom
4. Baked matsusake with herbs

This restaurant also serves sushi, dimsum, chinese dishes. =)

Fruits in Hong Kong

Don't leave Hong Kong without making a visit to the wet markets! You'll be amazed with the variety of fruits and the affordable prices =)

Tip: if you go to the markets during closing times, you'll be able to get fruits at a fraction of the normal price! Otherwise, you can probably try your luck and take the opportunity to test your bargaining skills!

Egg Tarts
Portuguese Egg Tart
I tried the Portuguese egg tart when I was in Macau. It is also readily available in Hong Kong. Definitely a must try for vegetarians who consume eggs.

Macau: Loh Por Bang (wife biscuit)

Name: Kee Wah Bakery
Location: Venetian Casino, Macau
Operation hours: not known, but they should be open from 11am-11pm daily

Taste = *** (nothing beats Singapore (bugis) 's wife biscuit!)
Atmosphere = ****
Service = ****
Price = $$ (MOP$ 6 per piece, MOP$10.50 for two)
Location = very convenient for tourists
How to get there = There are free buses to the Venetian from the ferry terminals and from Sands.

Only plus point is that the wife biscuit is served straight from the oven / warmer, hence, it's still piping hot when it reaches your palette.

Singapore (Bugis) 's wife biscuit, on the other hand, has been out in the display counter for quite some time. However, it still has that soft and melt in your mouth feeling! =)

Taste = ****
Atmosphere = ***
Service = ****
Price = $$$
Location = very convenient for tourists
How to get there = taxi / MTR to Causeway Bay / any bus that goes to Causeway Bay area

The food was really good! We visited this restaurant twice in our visit to HK and we enjoyed both the visit. We definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone that's visiting HK.

If I remember correctly, they do have english on the menu. Not sure if the waitress speaks english.

We tried:

Mushrooms Stir Fried with Cucumber
we really liked this dish!

Steamed Tofu topped with finely chopped mushrooms and spicy sauce
as south-east asians, we like our dishes really hot, so we think the sauce could be spicier.
hehe. but overall a very tasty dish!

Mix Vege Curry Pot
Nothing beats Malaysian curry, but definitely a good attempt by the chef!
Stir Fried Tofu with preserved olives
We highly recommend this dish too! A very natural vegetarian dish indeed.
Beancurd Sheet with mushrooms, red dates and green veg
We also recommend this dish as the red dates really brought out the flavor of the beancurd sheets

They also serve hot soup (Chinese style) and also delicious desserts. =)

Hong Kong: House of Canton (又一城)
Name: House of Canton (又一城) (Veg friendly eatery)
Location: LG2-40 , Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong
Operation hours: 7am - 11pm
Tel: 2265-7888

Taste = ***
Atmosphere = ****
Service = ***
Price = $$$$
Location = very convenient for tourists
How to get there = MTR to Kowloon Tong, follow signs / ask directions to Festival Walk.

This is a typical Hong Kong dimsum restaurant. There are many vegetarian friendly dishes, but the taste is so-so for dishes that are quite pricey (when compared to other yumcha places around the city)
Only thing is that the menus in Hong Kong are mostly in Chinese. So, unless you ask the waitress for help, you'll find it extremely difficult to order your dimsum dishes.

We tried:
Red bean dessert (sweet)

Mango sago dessert (sweet)

Mango filled Glutinous Rolls

Shanghainese "Nian Gao" (上海年糕)
I recommend this dish!
Steamed Nian Gao (Rice cakes) with shredded coconut and chopped peanuts

Loh Hon Rice Rolls (罗汉斋肠粉)

green bean dessert (sweet)
