2nd Hot Air Balloon Festival
The sky was decorated with the presence of multicolored hot air balloons when I arrived. A total of 6 hot air balloons were already up in the air, one after another, prompting everyone to start aiming their cameras (both point and shoot and complicated SLRs) to shoot away. So did I. I was torn between my new Blackberry Bold 2 and my old but faithful Kodak compact cam. In the end I was busy trying to capture pics using both, BB so that I could immediately share with my friends on Facebook, compact cam to capture higher quality shots for future memories.

With such a sight that greeted me and my best friend when we were stuck in a jam, we expected greater things when we got to the actual location (Presint 2 of Putrajaya, Malaysia). However, we realized that we were expecting too much when we saw only 3 balloons in the air, and their design were nothing special, the typical hot air balloon you'd picture in your mind when you think of hot air balloons. These 3 balloons were only taking people probably 20 feet off the ground then down again, looking at the long queue, we realized that it's not worth the wait since they take forever to take off the ground again (not including refueling breaks etc). Oh well, moving on to other activities, we saw a human ball rolling towards us, with a few crazy kids tumbling crazily down a mildly inclined hill. Wanting to thrill ourselves a little, we headed to the ticket booth, only to find that it costs RM25 for just one go, what a rip off! A whole group of kids were also enjoying themselves to a cycle-kart race, RM15 for 15 minutes, that's reasonable, and I'd go on it if only more adults were on the circuit, lol.

We found ourselves in a semi-restricted area and decided that something special must be about to happen since the MC was making loud announcements. At least the balloons were more special than the "up-down" balloons.

One balloon that actually lifted off the ground after we got off the car.

Ugly looking Levi Jeans balloon

The high profile Darth Vader balloon.

And here's Darth Vader fuming mad as he didn't get to lift off the ground!
Believe it or not, they inflated all the balloons but after the fireworks they were all IMMEDIATELY being deflated. I felt so sorry for those people that had waited in the long queue but did not get a chance to take off in any balloon. coz NONE of the balloons actually lifted off from the ground.

Two avid vegetarians are here to share some insights to the world of vegetarianism.
Hopefully, through this site, the lives of some animals can be spared. Always remember, animals have feelings too, they are our friends not our meal.
