Was at the HOMEDEC 09 exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a "Dipping Sauce" demonstration and I am just in time to attend it. Miss Ying Ying was so kind to share two recipes with us and at the end of it we could even sample the two dipping sauces. So nice and delicious.
AlmondnaiseIngredients:
120 gm silken tofu
Juice from 1 lemon
1 1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp mustard
2 pips garlic - minced
120 gm ground almond
Method:
Place all the above ingredients in a food processor and start blending. While blending, drizzle in 1 to 1 1/4 cup extra virgin oil slowly. Mix well and then dish out to serve with bread.
Cucumber Sauce DipIngredients:
1 cucumber
3 tsp mint jelly
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp sugar
2 heaped tbsp yoghurt
3 tbsp cream
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp mixed herbs
Method:
1. Shred cucumber in food processor. Marinate with 2 tsp salt for 5 minutes.
2. Squeeze out excess water and place in a mixing bowl.
3. Add all the above ingredients into the bowl of cucumber and blend well with a whisk.
4. Dish out and serve with bread.
